Effective March 28, 2017,
For a nominal fee, you can book Advanced Seat Selection for your clients using a Tango fare booked in classes: K, A, L, T, S, G, W on more markets across out network.
This is an enhancement on the current offering already available in our intra-Canada and transborder Canada-USA markets for Economy Tango fares.
If you haven’t already done so, please ensure that you have allocated seats in all affected bookings that you hold with Air Canada.
Your clients can continue to opt to make their seat selection within 24 hours of departure, during check-in at no cost.
Should your client elect to purchase advance Tango seat selection, here’s what you need to know:
- Effective March 28. 2017, you can select Tango seats on the identified itineraries via an EMD-enabled GDS (Note: EMD-enabled GDS’s are: Amadeus, Apollo, Sabre). Advance Tango seat selection will be otherwise inhibited
- The Advance Tango seat selection fee will apply to new itineraries booked and ticketed on/after March 28, 2017.
- Please note the following:
o No advance Tango seat fee applies for bookings made and ticketed prior to March 28, 2017
o If you booked and ticketed your client’s file in an EMD-enabled GDS before March 28, 2017 and did not make a seat selection, you will need to contact the Air Canada Help Desk to complete seat selection at no cost - The fee does not apply to:
o Altitude Super Elite™ 100K
o Families travelling with children
o Flight Pass bookings
o Group bookings
o Flex/Latitude/Premium Economy/Business class bookings (classes: V, Q, H, U, M, B, Y, N, E, O, P, Z, D, C, J) - To book an advance seat selection for eligible itineraries on 014 ticket stock, you can use:
o EMD-A functionality which is available for Sabre, Apollo and Amadeus subscribers
o Help Desk - To book an advance seat selection for eligible itineraries for OAL ticket stock, contact the Help Desk
- The fee is non-refundable except if your client was moved to another flight as a result of irregular operations
- If your client elected to change his/her itinerary, the value of the seat selection can be applied to a future trip
- If the ticket has been exchanged for a new ticket reflecting an issue date on/after March 28 – then the fee applies (Note: revalidated tickets assume the original ticket issuance date)
