One year after launching our improved Air Canada NDC program, we’re excited to announce that our NDC content is now officially available across Sabre’s travel marketplace. NDC content will be available through the Sabre marketplace in 20 markets globally: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India*, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Our partnership with Sabre marks a significant milestone in our industry’s continued transition to NDC and our efforts to modernize product distribution. With the addition of Sabre as a connection option, travel agents and other travel sellers will be able to shop, book, and service Air Canada NDC offers alongside traditional EDIFACT content. Agents will be able to access our full range of content while providing their customers with a more personalized travel experience. Air Canada recognizes the efforts and resources involved in transitioning to new technology and is committed to supporting our agency partners in a smooth transition with transparent communications, information and training every step of the way.
Air Canada NDC content is now available via Sabre Red 360, GetThere and Sabre Offer & Order API. All connection options allow access to a range of content and capabilities, with further advancements in progress, including:
- Shopping: Shop for one-way and round-trip itineraries, with multi-city as a planned addition**. Price, book and pay (cash and credit card) functions for up to 9 passengers is supported for most passenger types. Booking for for infant passenger type is a planned addition**, in the interim agencies can reach out to the Air Canada Contact Centre.
- Deferred Payment: Defer payment based on fare rules and ticket time limit offered for both primary flows and exchange flows
- Servicing: Cancel pre-pay, Cancel/void, Cancel/refund, Re-shop/exchange (limited to one bound at a time) and Order Change Notifications
- Re-shop/Exchange (Voluntary changes): Capability to apply a change towards the full itinerary is a planned addition**. Currently, agencies can support customers per the below:
- Domestic, transborder and sun itineraries: Exchanges can be processed by changing each bound individually
- International itineraries: Agencies need to reach out to Air Canada Contact Centre to complete the change for all bounds
- Domestic, transborder and sun itineraries: Exchanges can be processed by changing each bound individually
- Seats: Free seat selection & Paid seat selection is a planned addition**. Seat selection is currently possible for customers and agencies alike, via the Air Canada website.
- Ancillaries: Lounge access, pre-purchased meals
- Products: Published fares, Basic Fares on domestic, Corporate Private Fares (upon request), Continuous Availability (previously referred to as best available seat inventory)
To connect to NDC, agents will need to:
- Register with Air Canada, required only if you’re using Sabre Offer & Order API
- Request activation by Sabre through the Sabre Central Marketplace
- Receive order confirmation
- Optional: Register for free NDC training
- Start accessing NDC content
