The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) announced the new Air Passenger Protection Regulations, with Phase 1 effective July 15, 2019 and Phase 2 on December 15, 2019. These regulations greatly increase airlines’ responsibility towards passengers in the event of disrupted travel plans.
To be able to assist in best possible way, it is essential that each passenger´s contact information and child date of birth be included on PNRs containing flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or Air Canada Express.
If the absence of the passenger’s information results in Air Canada receiving a fine, penalty, or monetary compensation, this will be passed on to you.
For GDS bookings, this document outlines GDS scripts to include:
- Passenger contact information (email or phone): SSR CTCE / CTCM
- Passenger refusal to provide contact information: SSR CTCR
- Correct entry for date of birth for families travelling with children
